We both had an enjoyable time getting wet while exploring these six
waterfalls and woodland paths. Although the sky was cloudy for much of the day, it was quite hot
and humid.

After parking the car at the cavers car park we crossed the road to start the "Four waterfalls
walk". Following the woodland path we could hear a waterfall ahead. Having only seen the little
waterfalls of Golitha and Becky falls on our visit to Cornwall earlier this year, we were very
impressed with the first of the waterfalls. The waterfall is wide with a rock ledge half-way
down. Although it would be possible to walk along the ledge into the water, the surface was very
slippery with a big drop to the plunge pool below so we did not risk going too near to the water.
We did get some photographs of twillin getting soaked in the fine spray of mist near the foot
of the falls.

When we arrived at the second waterfall of the walk there were some guys just wearing shorts
messing about near the falls, when they saw us coming they moved further down stream. We both
had a great time getting soaked in this waterfall. The water was icy cold so we could not stand
under the falls for very long. So we each repeatedly walked through the cascading water while
the other took some photographs. This waterfall was definitly our favourite of the whole walk and
we stayed here quite a while and had a picnic before continuing our walk to the next waterfall.

As we approched the third waterfall we could hear lots of shouting and screaming! When we got
to the falls we found an organised group of teenagers jumping from a ledge near the side of the
falls into the very deep plunge pool at the foot of the falls. Unfortunatly we could not find a
a good location where we could get photographs of them jumping, we took a couple of photos of the
falls, but neither of us was quite brave enough to have a go at jumping from the ledge.

The final waterfall of the "Four waterfalls walk" was quite high with a path which went behind
the curtain of water. twillin tried wading into the plunge pool but decided the water was just
too cold. We then headed back along the paths, stoping at each of the waterfalls for a final
look before returning to car park.

We visited this waterfall on our last day in South Wales while on our way back to London. This
is another high waterfall which cascades onto a collection of large boulders at the foot of the
falls. I took a photograph of twillin after he had climb onto a ledge behind the falls.
We then climbed over the very slippery boulders to get as close to the foot of the falls as was
safely possible to get some more photographs of us getting wet in the splashing water. We went
by car to the next waterfall

At 90 feet this is one of the highest waterfall in Wales. It also has a foot path which goes
behind the curtain of water and a large plunge pool which made it very dificult to take some
close up photographs. We managed to clamber onto some of the large rocks to stand under the edge
of the waterfall for some photographs and I took a couple of photographs of twillin swimming in
the plunge pool. Sadly we had to leave and continue our journey home.

We also tried to visit two other nearby waterfalls, one we could not find and the other
"Aberdulais" was not open to the public on the day of our visit. You can see more of our
photographs in album eight of our galleries.
