"Wet Theme Parks in the UK" by Neptune

We have put together a short guide to some of the UK's theme parks that we have visited which have some fun wet rides.
THORPE PARK (SURREY)
Wet Rides include: Tidal Wave,Rumba Rapids,Loggers Leap, 4D Pirates and Depth Charge

Tidal Wave This theme park is quite large, with a fair amount of open space, but the walk between rides is not too long. The park can get very busy with long queues for rides when children are on holiday for the summer. "Loggers Leap" is a log flume type ride, there is a good chance the front rider will get their shoes filled with water as the boat tips forward to go down the slopes, apart from that its only a little bit wet. "Rumba Rapids" is the renamed "Thunder River", it has now got some new water features that might get you soaked at the last part of the ride. "4D Pirates" is still great fun each time I go, there are usually quite a few people who get a wet supprise at the end! "Depth Charge" is a water slide with little rubber boats, you only get a bit wet if there are two people in each boat. "Tidal Wave" is a roller coaster with a big difference, it really is WET! just one ride and you will get soaked, the comments from other new riders are quite amusing to listen too.
There are also quite a few good dry rides and reasonable choice of places to eat.

A great park for getting wet. Take a look at their website.
CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURE (SURREY)
Wet Rides include: Beano Land, Dragon Falls, Bubbleworks and Rameses Revenge

Chessington This park is compact with most rides fairly close together so there is not so much walking between rides. "Beano Land" is not so much a ride as a themed area, it is similar to UG land at Alton Towers there are a number of fountain features to get you soaked and it gets very busy on hot summer days. "Dragon falls" is a log flume ride but not quite a big as the one at Thorpe Park but still worth a ride or two. "Bubbleworks" is an interesting little ride ordinarily you would probably remain fairly dry, but with a little ingenuity you can get everyone in your boat soaked. "Rameses Revenge" is similar to "Rip Saw" at Alton Towers, riders are swung around and get sprayed with jets of water at the finish but they are rather mean with the water jets.
There are also quite a few good dry rides and a limited choice of places to eat.

An enjoyable park for getting wet situated close to London. Take a look at their website.
ALTON TOWERS (STAFFORDSHIRE)
Wet Rides include: UG Land, log flume, River Rappids and Ripsaw

River Rappids This park is very large with vast amounts of open spaces, you get to do quite a lot of walking and you really do need the map! Since the park is so large even on busy days it does not seem crowded but the ride queues can get very long. "UG Land" is quite similar to "Beano Land" at Chessington minus the fun fountains. There is a small log flume and river rapid ride but neither are as big or as wet as the ones at Thorpe park.
There are a lot of very good dry rides and a reasonable choice of places to eat.

An enjoyable park but not for getting wet. Take a look at their website.
DRAYTON MANOR PARK (STAFFORDSHIRE)
Wet Rides include: Stormforce 10, Splash Canyon

Stormforce 10 This theme park is quite large, with a fair amount of open space, but the walk between rides is not too long. The park can get very busy with long queues for rides when children are on holiday for the summer. "Stormforce 10" is the main wet roller coaster with ride cars that look like rescue boats, it features two seperate drops and every one gets very wet on this ride. "Splash Canyon", is similar to Rumba Rapids at Thorpe Park but they are not quite so generous with the water.
There are also quite a few good dry rides and the remains of drayton manor zoo. There is also a reasonable choice of places to eat.

Another good park for getting wet. Take a look at their website.
OAKWOOD PARK (SURREY)
Wet Rides include: Hydro, Snake River Falls, Waterfall

Hydro This is a medium sized theme park, with a fair amount of open space, the walk between rides is not too long. The park can get very busy with long queues for some rides when children are on holiday for the summer. The main wet ride at this park is "Hydro" it is slightly higher than Tidal wave at thorpe park with a much steeper drop, There are usually quite a few young people waiting to get wet near the ride exit. "Waterfall" is a steep water slide where you ride on a plastic sledge which is supposed to skim over a water trough at the bottom, but beware there is a sign which say "Some riders capsize and get Very WET". "Snake River Falls" is a collection of four water slide, two of which are enclosed, not normally very wet but with a bit of carefull splashing you can get soaked.
There are also quite a lot of good dry rides and reasonable choice of places to eat.

A very good park for getting wet. Have a look at their website.
Since the original feature which only included three parks run by the Tusauds Group we have now added a couple of theme parks run by other organisations.
